About us

SCOS is a Hong Kong deep-tech company developing advanced LCoS (Liquid Crystal on Silicon) light-modulator chips. SCOS is a spinout from HKUST, with more than 20 years of experience designing high-speed displays and optical elements.

What we make

Fast and efficient LCoS spatial light modulators for next-generation wavelength selective switches (WSS) and optical circuit switching in AI data centres, as well as AR/VR, head-up displays and LiDAR.

• 4K resolution (3840 × 2160), 3.6 µm pixel pitch, 0.62-inch panel
• Analog modulation with low noise and crosstalk
• Low optical loss: >90% reflectivity, <0.5 dB
• Ferroelectric liquid crystal roadmap towards <100 µs switching
• Built on 9 US/PCT patents; evaluation kits available
